Great question, I also play drums. The Bose QuietComfort 15 Noise Cancelling Headphones were designed to cancel out constant noise, like airplane engines, loud chitter chatter, etc.

They will still reduce the loudness of the external drum noise, but not as completely as they will constant sound.

We don’t know if the drum sounds would damage the mics in the headphones or not. You’ll have 60 days to find out if you buy them from Crutchfield.

Hello crutchfield, I play drums and I was just wondering, btw I already bought a pair of these and they are absolutely phonomenal, i was wondering If my drums will affect/ ruin the microphones that pick up sound for the noise canceling. Please reply!

    Hi timsdonuts,

Great news, yes you can put the headphones on, turn on the noise canceling, and enjoy the silence, even with no musical source connected to it.

And they are very good at what they do. They are so good, they are on CrutchfieldSignature which gets you fast free shipping, lifetime tech support and a 60 day guarantee.

    Hope that helps,

Hmm, someone just have an argument? I’ve been there, and I wish i had some Quiet Comfort 15 Noise Cancelling Headphones at the time.

In other words, these will do a pretty darn good job of giving you some peace and quiet while you are, well, ummm, getting screamed at.

It may not cancel the screaming 100%, but you could probably sleep thru it if you closed your eyes.

    Hope that helps,

    @thecomputerist

I have seen many people listen to the QC15 for the first time, and the reaction you describe is quite common. These do such a good job at eliminating the noise around you, it’s almost like entering a soundproof room, and certainly feels a little awkward.

You’ll find the QC15′s extremely effective at making it easy to sleep, listen to music at any volume, or just tune out the world, even in very noisey environments.

    Hope that helps,

    DemoniqueTrance,

Actually many studios and live music producers use noise canceling headphones like the Bose to make sure they are mixing the pure music, not the music and the external noise.

    Thanks for the question,

How do they work for producing music? Are the sound detailed in every spectrum?

    @juanchogutro,

The bass in your techno music certainly won’t damage the Bose QuietComfort 15′s. They can take it, and then give it back to you.

I have a question. I love techno music and eveyrhing with nice bass. So my question is:

If I like loud bass, do you think this headphones will “survive” to my wild music? (:

    Hi Maketimefly,

Great question. I wear contacts now, but I wore glasses for many years, and I’m sensitive to this issue with headphones. The soft foam ear cups still make a pretty good seal around the ear, even with glasses.

That being said, not all glasses are the same. The ear pieces are of varying thicknesses, and that can certainly affect the comfort and sealing ability of the foam earcup.

You have 60 days to try them out when you buy them from Crutchfield Signature.

Hello. I’m curious as to how they work for a person who wears glasses (I see you are wearing glasses in the video). When I wear over or on the ear headphones, my ears get quite sore where they are squished against the glasses. Also, would the noise canceling be compromised by glasses, since you won’t get the same kind of seal around the ear.

    Hi Downerist99,

The battery provides all the power for these headphones. And according to Bose 1 “AAA” will power the headphones for up to 35 hours.

Wanna get a pair? We’ve got em, just give us a ring.

    Darkstar,

In some ways yes, in some ways no.

They’d be great at eliminating the din of all those eliptical runners and treadmills, personal trainers, and TV’s showing the news, so you can listen to your workout music in peace and quiet.

However if you sweat a lot, that can take its toll on the sensitive electronics and ear pads. I can tell you from experience that ear pads can’t take too much sweat before they deteriorate.

    Hope that helps,

    iceman,

The earcushions are pretty close to exactly the same size, but i doubt they are interchangeable.

The Qc15′s Redesigned ear cushions use new materials in a proprietary design to establish a critical acoustical seal; helping to further reduce noise while providing a comfortable fit.

You could always purchase a pair and try them out. You’ve got 60 days to return them if you get them at Crutchfield Signature.

do you know if you can switch out the ear cushions from the QC15 to the QC2? They look very similar and maybe they could provide better sound isolation for the QC2′s. Thanks
