    Noise Canceling Technology

Noise canceling headphones reduce ambient noise to provide a quieter environment for audio entertainment. The headphones have an inside microphone on each earpiece that works with electronic circuitry to create oppositely phased sound waves that reduce, or phase out, the ambient noise sound waves.

The MDR-NC7 reduce up to 87.4% (9 dB at 300 Hz) of ambient noise when the noise canceling circuit is switched on, ideal for loud, noisy environments like planes, buses, dorms, etc.

Listen With or Without Noise Reduction

Convenient dual-use capability gives you the option of listening to your music with or without the noise cancelation feature, so you can enjoy unaffected music in quiet environments. This also allows you to keep using your headphones (minus noise reduction) when the batteries run dry.

    On-Ear Design

Many of the noise canceling headphones out there are earbuds; these are ideal for someone who prefers an external phone. The phones rest gently on your ear, with an adjustable headband to get a good fit. And good sound–a neodymium magnet provides excellent power-handling, and 30-millimeter drivers deliver quality sound with a frequency response of 20 Hz – 30 kHz.

    Ready for Travel

The MDR-NC7′s noise reduction is powered by a single AAA battery, and when not in use the phones feature a foldable, swivel design. Fold small and compact and slip into the included carry pouch and you’re good to go. An airplane adapter is also included for in-flight entertainment (stereo or dual jack).

Noise Cancellation Headphones Reduce Annoying, Unwanted Noise

If background noise has ever bothered you when listening to music, then noise cancellation headphones may be just the thing you need. There are many places where listening to music on headphones can be a relaxing escape, such as on a commuter train or bus. However, surrounding sounds such as traffic and conversations can be very annoying if you’ve ever tried this. Sometimes even your home can lack the peace you want, with the unwanted sounds of lawn equipment, TVs and radios, and neighborhood children.

Switch off the Noise with Noise Cancellation Headphones

Our modern world is also a very noisy world. Noise cancellation headphones were invented in response to all the sounds in our modern world. You can use this great invention to shut out annoying background noise. With noise cancellation headphones, you will find the quiet you’ve been looking for.

How do noise cancellation headphones work? The headset contains a small circuit that samples noise in the environment and then creates a sound wave which has the opposite polarity. This sound wave cancels out the noise in the environment for the person wearing the headphones. This leaves only the music to be heard.

Choosing the Best Noise Cancellation Headphones

It can be challenging to find a pair of noise cancellation headphones that really work. Some low-quality brands just eat up batteries without really reducing your unwanted noise at all. Paying a higher price doesn’t necessarily mean you will be getting higher quality noise cancellation headphones. The best thing to do is visit a store that sells a wide variety of options and test them out yourself.

One thing to keep in mind as you try out different noise cancellation headphones is how long the batteries are expected to last in each model. You should be able to use the headphones for at least 20 hours with a set of batteries. If you find a pair that work well but require a lot of batteries, think about using rechargeable batteries in your noise cancellation headphones.

Some of the bose headphones do that, but they are very large and very expensive. I find that the best thing are those in-ear buds with the really rubbery materal, they fit in your ears just like ear plugs, so they block out noise really well. I can use them on a jet plane and only have to turn up the volume slightly higher than normal to hear perfectly clearly. Even cheapish ones like “skull candy” for like $ 10 work awesome for that. Best of luck, cheers
