The first pair of these cans I bought on a lark because of the unique color bands for the ear pieces. The sound was incredible right out of the box. I have a loss of hearing in the lower frequencies (500-4000 Hz), and these had the ideal lower end enhancement for me(I like more pronounced bass in my music). Anyway, I had them about a month and had actually ordered a backup pair of the same model form Amazon.com. Now——— here is the crusher: listening one day to some great smooth jazz, suddenly the volume in the right earpiece faded to about half of the normal level. I verified this by using a different source and the sound was the same. So in conclusion, I returned these to Amazon and junked the originals. Great sound, but not so great construction
