Shure SE530PTH noise isolation?

By Grissom

I just got a pair of the SE530 headphones since I had just returned a pair of SE210…I tried on the SE530 and I can still hear noise from the outside, even if its not as loud. I can still hear a conversation across the room when I’m either listening or not listening to anything. Is it possible that these new headphones are defective?

I used the SE210s for a few days and they blocked out more noise than these SE530s what could be the problem? I tried all the sleeves which is just like the set that came with the SE210s and they just don’t block out as much noise as the SE210s.

Is it just me? Or is it the headphones? I was expecting the same amount of the noise isolation from the SE210s but seems to be lacking.

Thanks

Pat
I’ll try that out Apple genius, it just might be that I’m used to wearing the SE210s a different way than these and I might be putting it in the SE210′s way…
Is it normal to hear some outside noise even if you’re not listening to anything? It might just be me because I tested the 210s in a quieter environment (no customers in a restaurant) and I’m testing these 530s in a louder environment (restaurant with a few tables of customers)

Hmmm….. well having owned Shure headphones before (and still currently using them) I am struggling to agree with your problems. I don’t have those problems, although i can hear things a bit when no music is on. I know this may sound stupid but have the headphones been put in your ears correctly? I am asking as I know a few people who when they first got high end earphones don’t put them in right and they complained that they wasn’t as good as they thought. With earphones like the ones your have you should NOT push the ear phones straight in to your ear, this can damage your ear. Open your ear canal (pinch your ear just above your lobe) and then gently twist and softly push in the phones, They may feel uncomfortable at first but this is normal, they are not designed to be pulled in. Leave them in and you will get used to how they feel quite soon

If this doesn’t help then I am sorry, It could be the sleeves fault as most ears are different and you could just be unlucky that the Shure range don’t work quite right for you
